CSSI: 11/21/09 @ Montreal

Honestly, tough to remember much from this one. A busy weekend combined with adult beverage consumption = hazy memory. Oh well. We’ll give it the old college try here and see what happens.

CSSI: 11/21/09 @ Montreal

Goal 1 (PPG) (DET 1 MTL 0): Brad Stuart (2) from Dan Cleary (8) and Brett Lebda (3) at 12:41, First Period

• Wings on ice: Cleary, Leino, Bertuzzi, Stuart, Lebda

• HP(+): Cleary (+0.5) for digging the puck loose and getting it up top. Stuart (+1) for sending a blast at the net that overpowered Price and got the Wings on the board.

Goal 2 (PPG) (DET 2 MTL 0): Pavel Datsyuk (6) from Brian Rafalski (10) and Nicklas Lidstrom (7) at 14:42, First Period

• Wings on ice: Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Rafalski

• HP(+): Lidstrom (+0.5) for showing nice patience and faking the shot to open up the pass. Rafalski (+1) for a beautiful slap pass. Datsyuk (+1) for a perfect redirection past Price.

Goal 3 (DET 2 MTL 1): Michael Cammalleri (10) from Andrei Kostitsyn (6) and Jaroslav Spacek (6) at 0:09, Third Period

• Wings on ice: Zetterberg, Cleary, Leino, Lidstrom, Ericsson

• DP(-): Leino (-1) for the turnover to start the break. Zetterberg (-0.5) for not hustling back and picking up the trailing Cammalleri.

Goal 4 (DET 2 MTL 2): Michael Cammalleri (11) from Andrei Kostitsyn (7) and Tomas Plekanec (17) at 8:45, Third Period

• Wings on ice: Zetterberg, Cleary, Leino, Lidstrom, Lebda

• DP(-): Lidstrom (-1) for the ugly, weak pass around the boards. Zetterberg (-1) for being in position to break up the centering pass, yet completely failing to do so.

Miscellaneous Points:

• HP(+): Datsyuk and Zetterberg each get (+1) for scoring during the shootout.
• DP(-): Bertuzzi (-1) just really seems to be making poor decisions on the ice and consistently looks to be out of place. He really looks like he is bringing Datsyuk down and it might be time for Babcock to make a line move and split these guys up.
